Donald Trump: Kudos for Calling Out the Hypocrisy of the Elites

Thank you, Donald Trump! You are not the candidate I would have chosen to speak for the abused and dis-respected American worker and taxpayer, but you were the one who made their cause your cause.

You gave a voice to the frustration and anger that has been building over the direction our leaders have taken this country. You are the candidate who stood up against the "wisdom" of the ruling class, who brushed aside their attacks and revealed the hypocrisy of the elites, as they look down on us "deplorables" beneath them. You are the one who laughed at their political correctness. For that you deserve our sincere thanks.

You have raised issues that need to be aired in public. Good people can disagree on their respective positions on these issues (and I certainly disagree with you on many), but they need to be tested and challenged by a vigorous debate. Trade, foreign policy and wars, NATO, Supreme Court selections, immigration policy, tax reform, protecting religious freedom and economic freedom, government debt and spending, strangulation by regulation, currency manipulation by the Fed, and so on, are all serious issues that you tried to raise at one time or another.

You have been the skunk at the garden party of the elite and you have felt their counter-attack.

Unfortunately, you have presented yourself as a HUGE, easy target for personal attacks, on which the media elites have feasted. As they planned, attacking your personal traits and character provided ratings and entertainment as news, leaving precious little time for the substantial issues you tried to raise.

The latest example is the hypocrisy of the elites on the issue of a "rigged" election. The elites say you are a threat to democracy for speaking of a "rigged" election. You rightly speak for us "deplorables" when you call out the abuse of our election process by "community organizers" like ACORN and their successors and offspring. You call attention to the outright voter registration fraud these political organizations have engaged in. You put a spotlight on the opposition of Democratic party elites who oppose the simple safeguard against such fraud of voter IDs. A large majority of Americans in both major parties are in favor of such safeguards, but the Democratic Party elites are strongly opposed to closing this path to fraud. These elites and their ACORN-like henchmen are the real threat to democracy.

We are not stupid. You do not pose any threat to the tradition of a peaceful transition of power in America. Will there arise an Occupy Washington movement if Hillary Clinton is elected? As you might say, "gimme a break!" The only threat to the peaceful transition of power comes from the left, if their candidate fails to win. Yet the media elites feign horror at the threat to democracy when you have the audacity to call out the election-rigging actions of the left.

You are not my candidate of choice. Shame on us for choosing a champion with obvious weaknesses for the battle. I am unhappy that we did not select a champion for limited government and freedom. But kudos to you for being the "man in the arena," for striving mightily, for daring greatly.
