'DWTS’ Drama: Maksim Chmerkovskiy Lashes Out Against Derek Hough

After blasting the “Dancing with the Stars” judges’ panel, Maksim Chmerkoviskiy has now taken aim at fellow dancer Derek Hough.

Hope Solo’s 31-year-old dance partner was furious after Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Len Goodman’s commented on their performance.

Chmerkoviskiy has since defended his outburst via “Good Morning America.” While on the show Wednesday, Chmerkoviskiy implied that the judges have favored Hough.

“Derek Hough has been very supportive of his personal career on the show,” said Chmerkoviskiy on GAM, as he went on to explain why Hough sided with the judges on Monday.

“When you say judges have been generous, with all due respect, if I had Nicole Scherzinger followed by Jennifer Grey followed by Ricki Lake, I probably would not be very upset with the judges either.”

The professional dancer continued to defend his unhappiness with the judges, and that he harbors no regrets.

“I had a long conversation with my dad and I don’t regret anything,” Chmerkoviskiy said. “That’s why I think I’m misunderstood in this situation. Everyone is waiting for me to bow my head and plead for forgiveness. I have nothing to apologize for. I’m in the business because I love it. I can’t really lose with remarks like this.”

Chmerkoviskiy also said: “One thing I’m not going to embrace is pointing fingers and disrespectful remarks… Why are judges allowed to compare us to animals and point their fingers and we can’t say we’re work (sic) and show our opinion?”

Chaz Bono has been giving “DWTS” Judge Tonioli heat over his elimination on Tuesday, too. The transgendered contestant accused the judge of praising overweight female contestants while knocking overweight men.

Bono is furious over Tonioli comparing him to “a cute little penguin trying to be a big, menacing bird of prey,” while performing the tango Monday.

The six remaining couples on “DWTS” will return to the dance floor on ABC Monday at 8 p.m. EST.
