Evelyn Lozada Regrets Throwing Bottle at 'Basketball Wives' Castmate Kenya Bell
Evelyn Lozada, "Basketball Wives" star and entrepreneur, admitted that she regrets throwing a bottle at her fellow cast member Kenya Bell during a season four altercation that sparked public outrage.
When a fan recently took to Twitter to ask 37-year-old Lozada about any of her regrets, the reality television star responded "throwing that bottle at Kenya."
Fans of VH1's Basketball Wives watched Lozada accuse Bell of calling her "loose" before throwing a wine bottle and several plates at the aspiring singer in a violent attack. Other cast members escorted Bell out of the vicinity of the restaurant, where the women of the show attempted to end the attack that took place during season four of the show.
The incident was one of many that took place in season four and resulted in petitions and a public outcry for people to boycott the television show and Lozada's spinoff series. While the show raised concerns about supporting bullying, former Brooklyn prosecutor Star Jones spoke out against Lozada and the reality television show.
"It may be 'comfortable' to be quiet when women of color slap the crap out of each other and run across tables barefoot, but #ENOUGH is ENOUGH," Jones tweeted after witnessing Lozada on the show.
Since the end of the show's fourth season, Lozada has been vocal about turning over a new leaf. Last June, she posted a letter to her younger self in the Huffington Post.
"I cannot say that overnight, I'm going to get it right every time," Lozada wrote in a reflective letter to her younger self for all to see. "What I will promise you is that I will always remain conscious that little eyes like yours are watching me and because of that, I will try to be better."
When news of a domestic dispute between Lozada and her estranged husband Chad Johnson went public last August, some blamed the reality television star for the violent attack at the hands of the NFL free agent.
"I felt like I was getting blamed for the incident happening," Lozada told Vibe magazine recently. "That's what most people connect me with, especially with last season."
One month after marrying Johnson, the professional athlete physically assaulted Lozada after an argument ensued about his infidelities. While some questioned Lozada's role in the matter, the reality television star said she takes responsibility for the public image that she displayed for audiences that tune into her reality television show.
"I take full responsibility for putting this perception of me out there; that I argue and I just fight," Lozada told Vibe.
