Galaxy Mega 6.3, 5.8 Release Delayed Until July

The release date for the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and 5.8 could be delayed until July.

Both smartphones were originally expected to launch in June, but a new report points to them dropping a bit later on in the year.

The popular U.K. retailer Carphone Warehouse listed that the Galaxy Mega 6.3 will be in stock starting in July. The Mega 5.3 was expected to debut this week; however, it has not been seen on the market at this time which points to its release also being pushed back.

The 6.3-inch Galaxy Mega comes with an HD display that has close to 720p resolution. It also has a dual-core 1.7GHz processor, Android 4.2, an 8-megapixel camera and multiple software features such as Air View, Multi Windows, and Pop-up Play.

The device also features GPS, GLONASS, and a 3,200mAh battery to keep the phone powered while using all of these features. Users will also be able to install a microSD card in order to expand the Galaxy Mega's memory.

The Galaxy Mega 5.8-inch model comes with HSPA connectivity only. It features a qHD display with 960 x 540 resolution with a 1.4GHz dual-core processor. It comes with the same 8-megapixel camera as the larger version and is sold with only 8GB of internal storage.

A Samsung device launch timeline recently leaked which revealed that the 6.3-inch model would be released in May. However, it appears that the company's plans have changed.

This list also included the Galaxy S4 Mini and the Galaxy S4 Zoom. The Galaxy S4 Zoom will launch in black in early June, with a white model following mid-June. The Galaxy S4 Mini is expected to launch on the heels of the S4 Zoom.
