Galaxy Nexus Release Date: Will 4G Version Come to Sprint?
Since the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus at the "Samsung Mobile Unpacked: Google Episode" event on Oct. 19, little has been revealed about the U.S. release plans.
However, at present Verizon has been confirmed as a U.S. carrier, but sources are proposing that the smartphone could also be released on the Sprint network.
At "Samsung Mobile Unpacked," Samsung and Google representatives announced that the Galaxy Nexus would be HSPA+ and LTE compliant, which would make the phone compatible with Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile data networks.

Sprint, however, runs on its own WiMAX, 4G network.
GizmoCrunch proposes that the Galaxy Nexus could eventually be made compatible with the WiMAX network, after it is released on other networks.
The Google Nexus S was similarly launched on Sprint in May 2011. When it originally launched in December 2010 on AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S., Samsung announced that Sprint would not be powering the phone.
Despite having little advertising, a WiMAX compatible Nexus S was added to the Nexus family.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 also runs on Sprint's network, as well as AT&T and T-Mobile.
However, Sprint was the first to release its version of the Galaxy S2, under the name Epic 4G Touch.
Verizon decided not to carry the Galaxy S2 in order to focus on marketing the Motorola Droid Bionic.
If previous releases are any indication, customers may be able to expect the Galaxy Nexus releasing on the Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile networks as well as Verizon.
