Galaxy S3 vs. iPhone 5: Apple Surpasses Samsung in Web Traffic Volume

The Samsung Galaxy S3 vs. iPhone 5 battle has been one for the ages and Apple's device seems to have gained the upper hand in one area.

A new report released by the research firm known as Chitika shows Apple's iPhone 5 being responsible for 56 percent of web traffic volume less than one month after its official launch.

This left the Galaxy S3 with 44 percent, even though it has been available in the U.S. for almost four months.

The company conducted its study by analyzing millions of mobile ad impressions spanning a 7-day time frame from Oct. 3 to Oct.9 of this year.

However, this information should be taken with a grain of salt as 9to5Mac has reported that Chitika recently published some incorrect information regarding Google's local search queries. Chitika did admit to the error after reading about it in an article by SearchEngineLand, so their report may be more accurate this time around.

In other Samsung news, a new Galaxy S3 with Android 4.1, JellyBean pre-installed will be launching in Japan this winter.

The variant of the device will also come with a 1.6GHz Exynos chip that allows this Galaxy S3 to function at faster speeds than the international and U.S. variants.

It will be released in both black and grey and packs the latest build of Android software.

The Galaxy S3 Android 4.1, JellyBean update should hit many countries before the end of the month.

The company released the software upgrade early in Poland and should be rolling it out to many other countries by mid-October, according to announcement made by Samsung.

The U.S. version of the Galaxy S3 will be one of the last versions to receive the JellyBean software.
