Galaxy S4 to Utilize 'Eye Scrolling' for Reading Text

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will come with a new feature called "Eye Scrolling."

 The New York Times reported this Wednesday, confirming that Samsung filed a trademark in Europe under the name "eye scroll."

An anonymous Samsung employee informed the Times of some details concerning the feature outlining and how it will work. Eye scroll will track the user's eyes to determine where to scroll by following their direction. Users reading articles on their device will not have to use their finger to scroll down.

The source did not reveal the technology that will be used to check eye movements and he did not state if it would be demonstrated at the March 14 Mobile "Unpacked" event, but the insider boasted about the Galaxy S4's new features, saying that they will easily outshine the hardware.

Samsung released a teaser trailer earlier this week for the upcoming Galaxy S4 unveiling.

The new ad features different people talking about the event calling it "top secret." It also shows the company putting a boy in charge of the device that will most likely be the Galaxy S4.

A second part to the video features this young boy being tempted to reveal the Galaxy S4 to some of his peers, but he fights off some of their advances and keeps the handset a secret.

The next Mobile "Unpacked" event is set to take place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on March 14, 2013.

@Evleaks, a Twitter-based tech news outlet, tweeted out a picture that reveals the specifications for the Galaxy S4. It also shows the design for the smartphone.

The specifications in the picture include a 5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display, 13-megapixel camera, 2GB RAM, and Android 4.2, JellyBean. The device will also come in three different memory capacities, with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models. The picture does not feature any information about the processor that will be used for the device.
