Herman Cain to Make ‘Major Announcement’ on Saturday

Herman Cain will reportedly make a “major announcement” on Saturday involving his campaign to become the next president of the United States.

Cain’s campaign took a turn for the worse this past week when new allegations of an extramarital affair emerged just shortly after Cain faced several allegations of sexual harassment.

After the new accusations surfaced about Cain conducting a 13-year affair with Georgia native Ginger White, he flatly denied having the affair.

Cain told CNN earlier this week, “I acknowledge that I knew the woman. I acknowledge that I have known (her) for about that period of time. But the accusation that I had a 13-year affair with her, no.”

Cain also admitted to giving White money to help pay for “month-to-month bills and expenses,” but maintains that his relationship with White was purely platonic, even though his wife was not aware of the friendship between the two.

White, however, has adamantly expressed that she indeed had a sexual relationship with Cain.

Since the news of the affair broke, Cain has said that he will be reassessing his candidacy. He originally expressed that he had no plans to drop out of the race.

The looming “major announcement” is stirring speculation as to whether the long-time businessman’s campaign will ultimately come to an end.

Cain will be in Georgia today discussing the claims with his wife.

After Cain was accused of sexual harassment, the Republican’s wife came out in defense of her husband of 43 years.

Gloria Cain told Fox News that the sexual harassment accusations against her husband were untrue and that Herman Cain “totally respects women.”

With the rise of the new allegation, Gloria has thus far been mum on the claims, but the Cain campaign has been working in public relations overdrive launching a new initiative entitled, “Women for Herman Cain.”

The initiative is an “online fellowship of women dedicated to helping elect Herman Cain” and has Gloria listed as the national chairperson on the new Web page. The page appears to have been added Thursday night.
