Hollywood Finally Recognizes 'The Passion'

Hollywood has finally recognized "The Passion of the Christ" in the 19th annual American Society of Cinematographers Awards.

Mel Gibson's "The Passion" was placed on the nominees list for the awards that will take place Feb. 13 in the Hollywood & Highland Complex. Cameraman Caleb Deschanel, a 2000 ASC winner for "The Patriot," was selected as one of the feature film nominees. He was also nominated for 1996's "Fly Away Home" and has been nominated four times for an Oscar.

He will be up against Dion Beebe and Paul Cameron, for "Collateral"; Bruno Delbonnel, for "A Very Long Engagement"; Pawel Edelman, for "Ray"; and Robert Richardson, for "The Aviator."
