HTC One X Launches on AT&T

The long awaited HTC One X launched on AT&T this past weekend and is available at all of the carrier's retail locations.

Customers who pre-ordered the device were also able to pick it up or have it mailed to them.

"The HTC One X is touted as one of the best Android handsets on the market right now, and I certainly would not disagree," said 9to5 Google.

AT&T is offering the HTC One X with a new two-year contract for just $199.

The smartphone is also available on Amazon.com with a $50 discount making it just $149. Unfortunately Amazon's version does not come with an unlocked boot loader that select HTC handsets include.

"HTC is committed to listening to users and delivering customer satisfaction," said HTC. "Since announcing our commitment to unlockable bootloaders, HTC has worked to enable our customers to unlock the bootloader on more than 45 devices over the past six months."

Due to some restrictions, some devices cannot participate in HTC's bootloader unlocking program, according to the company. But HTC stated that it is committed to assisting developers in unlocking bootloaders for HTC devices.

Specifications on the One X include a Tegra 3 quad-core processor, a 4.7-inch Super LCD display with 1280 x 720 pixels, an 8-megapixel camera that includes an ImageChip that kicks up picture processing. It is also a 4G LTE device and features Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.

The line also includes the HTC One V and One S.

Specifications on the One V include a 1GHz processor, Android 4.0 (with Sense 4.0), a 3.7-inch WVGA display, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal memory. It also comes with Beats Audio and a 5-megapixel rear shooter.

The One S is slightly less powerful, but still sports some impressive features, including a 4.3-inch display with 960 x 540 resolution, a dual-core SnapDragon S4 processor, an 8-megapixel camera and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It will be released through T-Mobile sometime this spring in the U.S.
