iPhone 5 Prototype Found in Mexican Restaurant
Eating tacos, sipping a margarita and finding an iPhone 5; sounds like an interesting dinner for the person who reportedly stumbled upon a prototype of the next generation iPhone in a Mexican restaurant in San Francisco.
This marks Apple’s second slip up regarding an unreleased device being lost. Back in April of 2010 an early version of the iPhone 4 got into the hands of the public before the drop date.
Apple was able to retain that prototype, but according to CNET it is having a hard time getting this one back.

The device was reportedly sold on Craigslist for $200.
According to CNET, Apple contacted the San Francisco police, and by using location tracking, eventually traced the phone to a single-family home in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights area, but the resident has denied any connection to the device.
Some analysts and media outlets are expressing their suspicion regarding Apple’s losing of prototypes.
They feel the tech giant may be purposely misplacing its devices deliberately in order to stir up controversy and hype over them.
If the iPhone 5 prototype has been given a trial run, analysts are speculating that the release date should be coming soon.
Rumors have been circling the internet and if they are correct, then consumers should see the iPhone 5 official release sometime in early October with pre-orders beginning by the end of September.
Sprint also recently required the rights to distribute the next generation iPhone.
They plan to hold a media event on October 7 which many speculate will be specifically geared towards the iPhone 5 release.
According to rumors and leaked cases supposedly designed for the device, the iPhone 5 will have a larger screen to compete with the android phones along with an 8 megapixel camera and better antenna.
Some analysts, however, are expecting the release of the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5 to be sometime next year.
