iPhone 5 Leaked Prototype: Parts Leaked as Police Review Video Footage
The SFPD are adamant about finding out the whereabouts of an Apple iPhone 5 prototype that was lost in a bar in California.
On July 22, the iPhone 5 prototype was “lost” at Cava 22 bar in San Francisco, California by an unnamed Apple employee. At the time, Apple assisted the SFPD in a search for the missing smartphone.
A search, conducted by Apple, of the home, car and computer of Sergio Calderon yielded no sign of the beta smartphone despite Apple stating that it had tracked the handset to a Bernal Heights home.

Lt. Troy Dangerfield, a spokesman for SFPD has stated that Apple has not filed an official police report.
However the SFPD is continuing to investigate the case and has requested from Cava 22, the surveillance videos from the dates around which the prototype was lost.
Dangerfield has determined that police are requesting the surveillance as part of an internal review SFPD officials are conducting about how police assisted Apple in a search of a home on July 24.
Jose Valle, owner of Cava 22 is cooperating with police and is willing to surrender the surveillance videos. However, the bar's six cameras do not record live video, but rather capture photos every three minutes.
Commentators expect that this may be an issue for police, who are searching for an unknown device that was lost by an unknown Apple employee and was allegedly found by a third person.
It is suspected that the iPhone 5 prototype was found by a Cava 22 patron and sold online.
All Things D notes that as of late several supposed iPhone 5 parts have been leaked. But also proposes that the device may have been returned to Apple, since the company has not seemed too concerned about the prototype’s whereabouts.
Apple is scheduled to have an unveiling event for the iPhone 5 on October 4 and all speculations may soon be answered with an estimated October 14 release.
