iPhone 5 Release Date Put Back: Not Due Until 2012?
Customers and tech junkies will not be able to get their hands on the new iPhone 5 until 2012, according to 9to5 Mac.
According to the site’s sources, production on the new model is seeing some delays.
Apple does plan to release a new iPhone on October 7, but 9to5 Mac feels it will most likely be a revamped version of the iPhone 4, since manufacturers of the device have confirmed to the site that they are producing lookalikes of the current iPhone at a high rate.

Some rumors have spread recently that the iPhone 5 will not differ that much from its predecessor.
However, 9to5 Mac seems confident that a newer looking model is still on the way, but it may not arrive until next near.
Tech critics are reacting with increasing excitement over the design of the next generation iPhone.
9to5 Mac describes it as “impossibly light, yet much firmer than Samsung Galaxy phones which are backed in plastic.”
It also states that the new smartphone will include a camera that will rival point and shoot cameras and should work as a major marketing point for the device.
The site describes the phone as being unusually tear-drop shaped, including a larger screen and thinner shape.
Pictures of screen protectors and cases supposedly being produced by Chinese manufacturers for the iPhone 5 have been leaked online recently, which appear to confirm this design.
The iPhone 5 is rumored to be released on the four major U.S. networks including AT&T, Verizon, and newcomers Sprint and T-Mobile.
Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile USA’s parent company, has already begun taking pre-orders for a new iPhone device assuming Apple will release it sometime before the end of the year.
The iPhone 5 was rumored to come out in October, but now it is possible that this new iPhone 4 could be debuting on Sprint and T-Mobile on that date instead of Apple putting out the next generation smartphone.
