iPhone 5 to Feature a 7.6mm-Thick Frame
The next-generation iPhone will feature a frame that is 7.6mm thick, according to a recent report.
An article in the Chinese-language newspaper AppleDaily claimed to have obtained an enclosure for the device. They allegedly took its measurements and reported the figure.
It appears that the enclosure's thickness measured in at 7.6mm, with the rest of its dimensions being equivalent to circulating specifications leaked by case manufacturers earlier this year.

MacRumors contacted one of these manufacturing sources who confirmed to the site that this report was accurate and that he was preparing to construct iPhone 5 cases that he's be willing to ship replacements for if they turned out not to be perfect.
He also reported three big changes that were made to the device, making it significantly different from its predecessor.
This device will be much bigger and measure in at 58.47mm wide, 123.83mm high and 7.6mm thick with a 4-inch screen. The earphone jack will also be moved to the bottom of the smartphone and the dock connector will be much smaller.
The iPhone 4S measures 9.3mm in depth, so a device that is 7.6mm thick would be 18 percent thinner than the current iPhone.
The new iPhone is expected to have the same width as the 4S, but will be longer since it will feature a 4-inch display.
Apple is rumored to be unveiling the new iPhone on Sept. 12 and could possibly launch it the same month.
This is the first time the company will release an iPhone with a larger display, as the older iPhone models have all featured a 3.5-inch screen.
Other rumored specifications for the iPhone 5 include LTE connectivity, HD Retina display. It should also debut with iOS 6 pre-installed.
