Jennifer Hudson Size '0': Singer Speaks Out Against False Weight Loss Rumors

Jennifer Hudson is speaking out about being “crucified” by speculators who have issues and misconceptions about her weight loss.

Hudson recently spoke with Ebony magazine about the controversy surrounding her slim figure. Last summer, Joy Behar, co-host of “The View,” said she learned Hudson was a size zero – news that caused the Internet to buzz with a multitude of reactions.

During her show, “The View,” Behar gave her account of an encounter with Hudson while shopping for clothing.

"I was in a store shopping, looking for a dress and I suddenly say 'Oh there’s somebody I know' and it was Jennifer Hudson and she was shopping and she said 'I know you',” Behar told her audience last week. “Then I heard the sales girl say to her 'You're a size 0' and I said to Jennifer 'How does that feel?'”

Some reacted negatively to the news that Hudson had drastically slimmed to a size zero.
Actress and stuntwoman Jwaundace Candece took to her twitter to question the affect that Hudson’s transformation may have on the youth.

“Is this a good standard for our kids,” Candece questioned after Behar made the claim. “No wonder eating disorders (are) rising."

Hudson testified to countless people sharing in Candece’s perspective. She explained the backlash she received to Ebony magazine.

“I got crucified by I don’t know how many people who cussed me out because they said I’m putting out the wrong message and telling people to be a size zero,” Hudson said. “I got called every name under the sun and was told, ‘You should be ashamed of yourself for talking about being that size.’”

Although Hudson said she understood the reactions, she did not feel they were warranted.

“Well, honey, when I do say I’m that size, then give me that speech,” Hudson told Ebony. “I never said that.”
