Justin Bieber Baby Mama: Yeater Attempted to Resolve Issue Without Media Attention
Mariah Yeater, the 20-year-old who claims Justin Bieber fathered her child, did not want the paternity case to turn into a media frenzy, according to her legal team.
Jeffrey Leving, Yeater’s lawyer, told Daily News he attempted to contact Bieber’s representatives privately on two occasions before the media got wind of the incident.
“It could have been done painlessly, with the media never knowing about it,” said Leving. “Access to justice should not be a luxury only the rich can afford, especially in a society where people are so enamored by celebrity status and wealth.”

Although Bieber agreed to take a DNA test to disprove Yeater’s claims, Leving expressed concerns about the proceedings.
“There has to be a sufficient chain of custody. Now it’s a high-profile case, and there’s motive to corrupt this,” Leving explained. “People are so enamored with Justin Bieber, you could have someone change samples in a lab because of love for this guy.”
The lawyer defended his client and said she was merely looking for answers.
"She’s an unemployed single mother struggling to make a future while being intimidated and bullied,” Leving added. “She has a right to make her case without threats of being sued or jail time. This is outrageous.”
Despite Yeater’s claims, Bieber, 17, maintains his innocence in the matter.
“I’d just like to say, basically, that none of those allegations are true,” said Bieber on the “Today” show. “I know I’m going to be a target, but I’m never going to be a victim.”
The singer called the accusations, “crazy.”
"I think it's crazy because every night after the show I've gone right from the stage to my car, so it's crazy that someone would want to make such false allegations. To set the record straight, none of it's true,” Bieber added.
