Kamala Harris posts photo of herself at Carter funeral with Trump cropped out: 'Petulant'
Many users on social media noticed that President-elect Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, were cropped out of the photo Vice President Kamala Harris posted of herself at former President Jimmy Carter's funeral last week.
"President Jimmy Carter loved our country. He lived his faith, served the people, and left the world better than he found it. President Carter's many contributions will echo for generations to come," Harris tweeted Saturday along with the photo, which showed the array of former presidents, vice presidents and first ladies at the funeral except for the Trumps, who were hidden behind a column.
Harris also posted the image and caption on Instagram.

Many on social media criticized Harris for what they deemed to be a petty slight against her former political opponent.
"Kamala purposely cropped-out the Trump family from a photo of the Carter funeral. In ONE WEEK, Donald Trump will be YOUR 47th President of the United States. No amount of pettiness can change the facts," Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., tweeted.
“Look how petty Kamala Harris is to use a photo without [Trump] in it. This is what a sore loser looks like,” wrote former GOP communications director Steve Guest.
“She’s so mad,” former acting director of national intelligence Ric Grenell tweeted.
"Burn Book 2025 stuff here from the outgoing vice president and owner of 226 electoral votes. Cropping out the incoming 47th president and two-time First Lady is as petulant as it is pathetic, which is par for the course," tweeted Fox News contributor Joe Concha.
"You can crop out [Trump] from your photo and pretend that he wasn't even there… even though you were visibly disturbed by his friendly chat with [Obama], but in less than two weeks… he WILL be sitting back behind that Resolute Desk to be the resolute leader we need,” tweeted Rep. Mark Alford, R-Mo.
Many also noted the apparent tension among the group of dignitaries, several of whom have run against each other. Footage circulated on social media that showed Harris appearing agitated when she looked behind her to see Trump and former President Barack Obama chatting and laughing.
Others observed how Harris and first lady Jill Biden did not interact with each other much despite being seated together.
Neither former first lady Michelle Obama nor former Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife attended Carter's funeral. Michelle Obama did not attend because she had a schedule conflict and was in Hawaii for an extended vacation during the funeral, according to CNN.
Cheney's daughter, Liz, the former at-large representative for Wyoming, served as vice chair of the U.S. House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack before Wyoming voters removed her from office in the 2022 midterms.
During a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, Trump called Liz Cheney "a very dumb individual" and "a radical war hawk," and drew criticism for suggesting that she would be less enthusiastic for war if she had to personally face the consequences.
Trump also shook hands with former Vice President Mike Pence in their first public appearance since they left office in 2021, though Pence's wife, Karen, noticeably did not rise from her seat to acknowledge the president-elect.
