Kanye West Commissions Andy Warhol's Cousin To Paint Kim Kardashian
Kanye West was not able to get the late Andy Warhol to paint his fiance Kim Kardashian so the rap mogul decided to turn to the artist's cousin, Monica Warhol.
West, the 36-year-old rap mogul who is engaged to the mother of his child and 33-year-old reality television star, reportedly hired Monica who creates silk-screen projects from photographs much like her late cousin. Although Monica never met the famed pop artist who died when she was only 10 years old, her grandfather was the brother of Andy's father.
The Arizona based artist said she believes Andy would have loved Kardashian whom West commissioned her to paint, according to the New York Post.
"She's an icon. She's famous for nothing. Andy would have loved her," Monica told the New York Post." Kim is beautiful. She's so manufactured. She looks like a human Barbie."
Last October, West explained why he believes his reality television star fiance Kim Kardashian is famous.
"People used to be like, 'What is she talented for?' She is talented at being beautiful," West revealed on Big Boy's Neighborhood on Los Angeles' Power 106 recently. "If you go to a club and it's a bunch of beautiful girls you may say it's a bunch of talent in here."
The 36-year-old rap mogul who proposed to Kardashian on her 33rd birthday explained his theory further.
"Like Karrine Rafald said on my girls birthday; she was the editor of French Vogue now she has her own magazine called SCR, she said 'In my industry beauty is a talent,'" West said on the show.
Kardashian, the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star, defended her line of work in a recent issue of Vogue U.K.
"The biggest misconception about my family and me is that we're lazy. I work hard; the show is a full-time job," Kardashian insisted to Vogue. "Sometimes I don't think people realize that – we work 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on the program."
