Kanye West Compares Himself To Police Officer, Soldier At War

Kanye West insists he is putting his life at risk on his "Yeezus" tour in the same way that police officers or soldiers at war do.

West, the 36-year-old rap mogul who is currently embarking on his "Yeezus" tour, spoke with SaturdayNightOnline.com about the dangers of his job.

"I'm just giving of my body on the stage and putting my life at risk, literally," West said to SaturdayNightOnline.com, speaking about portions of his show where he performs atop a moving mountain. "That mountain goes really, really high. And if I slipped … You never know."

West acknowledges that he thinks about being in danger and the fact that he is living for his fiance and reality television star Kim Kardashian and their daughter North West.

"And I think about it," West revealed. "I think about my family and I'm like 'Wow, this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something.'"

Aside from the physical harm that could impact him, West spoke about the emotional ramifications that come with his fame.

"You're literally going out to do your job every day knowing that something could happen to you," he told SaturdayNightOnline.com. "Something could happen to you verbally from the press bashing you; something could happen to you from people not liking you anymore 'cause of your records or you could actually slip on that stage."

Still, West has insisted that he is using his "Yeezus" tour as an opportunity to carry out the work of God.

"I'm working on one mission and that's a mission from God, period," West said on Power 106 in Los Angeles. "So all this negative energy that ya'll throwing against me and this confusion that ya'll trying to put around me, I'm going to make it very clear exactly what I'm here to do and I'm going to apply all the blessings that I've got...all the info and creativity that I've got and I'm going to really help."
