Kanye West Responds To Ray J

Kanye West is finally addressing Ray J Norwood, the R&B singer who created a scathing song about the rapper's girlfriend Kim Kardashian earlier this year.

Norwood, 32, appeared in an X-rated video that catapulted Kardashian's career in 2007 and released a song titled "I Hit It First" complete with verbal jabs against West's girlfriend who he also shares a child with.

"She might move on to rappers and ball players, but we all know I hit it first," Ray J sang on the record.

West, the 36-year-old rapper, decided to release his own lyrics about Norwood, the younger brother of singer Brandy Norwood. He appeared on the "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" talk show to revise the lyrics of his song "Bound 2" in an impromptu performance.

"Brandy's little sister lame man he know it now/ When a real brother hold you down, you supposed to drown," West rapped.

Ray J initially denied that his song was not an attempt to create a verbal war with West or Kardashian.

"It's a song, it's not about that, it's about a concept. People going way too deep," Ray J said on New York City radio station Hot 97 earlier this year. "They just gotta keep it on the surface. I'm not trying to create no war, it's all love; we're doing music."

However, the song's hook led others to believe differently, as it alludes to a woman moving on to athletes- Kardashian herself has dated NFL player Reggie Bush and married NBA player Kris Humphries. On one of the verses of the controversial record, Ray J speaks about cardinal compass points that left some questioning whether he is alluding to Kardashian's rapper boyfriend.

Still, Ray J insisted that he was not trying to disrespect Kardashian or West on the record.

"It's not a war, it's not a diss song, we're just having fun," Ray J said on Hot 97. "Bring it back to the song. That's all I'm on."
