Katy Perry's Christian Mom to Pen Memoir, Dispel Rumors
The mother of popular music artist Katy Perry plans to write a book where she will talk about Perry's lifestyle choices before and after abandoning her career as a Christian pop star.
Mary Hudson, a Christian evangelist in California, plans to include how her daughter's fame impacted her family's Christian ministry in "both negative and positive ways."
The description for the book reads, "This memoir is her story, in her own words. She loves her daughter very much and is very proud of her accomplishments, but disagrees with a lot of choices she makes in her career."

Perry began her music career as a 16-year-old teenager by the name of Katy Hudson, singing songs like "Faith Won't Fail" and "Trust in Me." Just before her birthday she decided to make the switch to mainstream pop music.
Her fame took off with the famous 2008 song "I Kissed a Girl" – not one of her mom's proud moments.
Hudson said she hated the song as "it clearly promotes homosexuality and its message is shameful and disgusting."
"The first time I heard it I was in total shock. When it comes on the radio I bow my head and pray."
According to the book proposal, the memoir is meant to "set the record straight" and is "not Christian proselytizing or a Katy Perry tell-all," according to the New York Post.

Perry, who recently married English comedian and former drug addict Russell Brand, has had multiple Grammy nominations and currently has more than 6 million followers on Twitter.
Hudson's book has been submitted to literary agents but no publisher has signed a deal.
