However, the singer spoke more about her previous relationship while refusing to reveal the identity of her past love interest.

"That's not important. But he's a different person now. He's a better person now," Rowland told OMG! Insider recently. "I had to walk away. You just get tired. You get tired of not being happy. That's just not a life you want to live."

Still, the singer did not deny just how deeply the relationship affected her.

"It was an emotional roller coaster, a piece of me would just go away," Rowland revealed on OMG! Insider. "Everytime he would say something…"

She recalled just how verbally abusive the relationship was, and that her ex-boyfriend even tried to end her relationship with family and friends, like fellow singer Beyonce Knowles.

"I remember those words. We all know how these relationships work," Rowland told OMG! Insider. "The person that's trying to tear you away from the people that build you up, so they can tear you down."

However, the singer revealed that her relationship with Knowles withstood her turbulent relationship her her ex.

"I love my sister. And she is so incredibly supportive," Rowland said on OMG! Insider between tears. "One of the closest people to me. I love her to death and I love being an aunt."
