Kim Kardashian Divorce Brings Kardashian Brands Under Fire

In a grass roots motion, many people have taken aim at the Kardashian family and urged E! Network to remove the family’s television series and are boycotting all things Kardashian.

The request was sent earlier this month via GoPetition.com, where Cyndy Snider penned a public complaint against not only “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” but against the “Kourtney and Kim” series of shows.

The “No More Kardashian” petition states that “enough is enough” and encourages people to sign and forward the link.

As of Tuesday, the petition has collected over 3,800 signatures of people who agree that E! should remove the Kardashian suite of shows from their programming.

“We feel that their shows are mostly staged and place an emphasis on vanity, greed, promiscuity, vulgarity, and over-the-top conspicuous consumption,” wrote Jane Smith on behalf of the petition’s progress.

“While some may have begun watching the spectacle as mindless entertainment or as a sort of ‘reality satire,’ it is a sad truth that many young people are looking up to this family and are modeling their appearance and behavior after them,” continued Smith. “There is no particular religious or political platform behind our disgust; we are just finally fed up.”

After Kim Kardashian announced her divorce from Kris Humphries, her husband of 72 days, she and her family were met with allegations of having staged the wedding for monetary gain and publicity. Television shows about the Kardashians are not the only product receiving criticism and boycotts.

Paige Winters in Columbia, S.C. told The Christian Post that she canceled her subscription to shoedazzle.com – the personal style website founded by Kim Kardashian.

When placing the call, the account manager asked Winters to specify why she was canceling her account with Shoedazzle, and requested an honest answer.

Winters explained, “The thought of giving any more of my hard-earned money to that attention-seeking [woman] makes me physically ill.”

“I laughed,” Winters told CP of her experience. “When I told her that, she said, ‘You certainly aren’t the first person who has said that.’”

Rob Kardashian is currently on season 13 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” while sibling Kim is filming her part in Tyler Perry’s latest movie. Her addition to the cast has sparked anger among Tyler Perry fans, and many are protesting her presence in the film due to the speculation over the legitimacy of her marriage to Humphries.
