Kim Kardashian Divorce: Kardashian Bails on Australian Promotional Tour

Reality television star Kim Kardashian, who has been making headlines after filing for divorce from basketball star Kris Humphries after only 72 days of marriage, has decided to cancel her Australian promotional tour for her new collection of handbags, "Kardashian Kollection."

The socialite, who arrived in Sydney on Tuesday with younger sister Khloe and had a slew of appearances lined up to promote the handbags, is expected to fly back to Los Angeles either today or tomorrow, saying she is too upset over the current circumstances surrounding her recent divorce to continue, various media sources are reporting.

After a 6-month courtship, Humphries proposed to Kardashian on her family's well-known reality show, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," and the couple was married shortly after in a lavish ceremony that reportedly cost $20 million. Throughout the courtship, proposal and wedding, which was broadcast as a two-part special on the E! channel, it was speculated in the media that the relationship was a ploy by the show's executives to keep the show current and improve ratings. In the months leading up to and following the wedding, it became apparent that trouble was brewing in the relationship, as both Kardashian and Humphries were spotted often apart and without their wedding rings.

However, Kardashian has insisted the marriage had nothing to do with publicity.

"First and foremost, I married for love," she said in a released statement. "I can't believe I even have to defend this...I love with all of my heart and soul. I want a family and babies and a real life so badly that maybe I rushed in to something too soon...I felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldn't get off when now I know I probably should have. I got caught up with the hoopla and the filming of the TV show that when I probably should have ended my relationship, I didn't know how to and didn't want to disappoint a lot of people."
