Kim Kardashian Divorce: Mariah Carey Pokes Fun at the Stars' Short Marriage

Mariah Carey is sharing her secrets to a successful marriage while snubbing soon-to-be divorced Kim Kardashian in the process.

The renowned award-winning singer recently surfaced at a Jenny Craig event with a new svelte figure after giving birth to twins seven months ago. She admitted to host Gayle King that she and spouse Nick Cannon had healthy arguments while quipping at Kardashian’s expense.

“Sometimes we make each other mad, that's why we aren't divorced after four months,” said Carey. “I'm sorry, I'm just saying. This is Hollywood. Did I say something that was wrong?”

The comment came two months after Kardashian’s two-part wedding special opened on E! and only a few weeks after the reality star announced her divorce.

Much like Kardashian, Carey admitted to King she had been in a toxic relationship in the past.

“I had a situation in my past which I was in a controlling relationship,” Carey said. “I was really young and it affected the way I trust people.”

Cannon, host of “America's Got Talent,” revealed he and Carey were married three times.

“I have to do it every single year,” Cannon said. “If you were married to Mariah Carey, you'd want to marry her every year too! I just have to keep doing it to make sure it's real.”

Carey said she had no pretenses when it came to her husband.

“I'm not going to put on a fake face,” the singer said. “I’m a real person, I’m not going to put on the fake Hollywood: 'Yes, every time Nick says anything I faint on the floor.’”

Despite the assumptions some people make concerning her marriage, Carey maintained it is going strong.

"Me and Nick are great. There’s no team,” Carey said. “Me and Nick are the same team always. [We] have never been better."
