Kim Kardashian Divorce: Star to Sue Former Publicist for Saying Marriage Was a 'Sham'

Kim Kardashian is reportedly preparing to sue former publicist Jonathan Jaxson for defamation after he claimed that her marriage to Kris Humphries was a sham.

According to gossip site TMZ, Kardashian has hired legal “pit bull” Marty Singer to sue Jaxson for the damage his comments have caused to her reputation.

“Everything that he is saying is false and nonsense,” Kim’s lawyer told TMZ. “This guy is in it to promote himself for his 15 minutes of fame.”

TMZ also claims that Jaxson signed a confidentiality agreement with Kim, which he has violated with his comments about her marriage.

However, Jaxson apparently responded: “I have never signed an agreement dealing with confidentiality with Kim Kardashian. I have an agreement in my possession that does not have either parties' signature on it.”

Jaxson claimed that the reality star’s marriage to basketball star Kris Humphries was a publicity stunt and that she is still in love with her ex-boyfriend.

Kim’s former publicist, who worked with Kim from 2007 to 2009, had spoken on New York’s Elvis Duran and the Morning Show saying: “She knew weeks before getting married she didn’t want to do it.”

He added: “She’s never gotten over [her ex Reggie Bush].”

Kim and Reggie had dated for two years before splitting in July 2009. They got together two months later and broke up again in March 2010.

Jaxson also said he helped Kim stage publicity stunts whilst working with her: “I staged several of the moments that the world has seen of her, such as a ring that we alleged was from Reggie Bush.”

Kim has reportedly earned millions of dollars from her 72-day marriage to Humphries, which her mother Kris Jenner denies.

Jaxson said: “They had a lot of contracts, they had endorsements. To say they weren't paid is a lot of foolish garbage.”

Kim has publicly denied that her marriage to Humphries was fake.

“Anyone that would get married for a TV show, it's just, you know, ridiculous,” she said. “It's just sad that I even have to defend that.”

TMZ claims that Kim will sue for $200,000 compensation from Jaxson.
