Kris Humphries Representing Himself Against Kim Kardashian in Divorce Court

Basketball Star Wants to Expose Kardashian as a 'Fraud'

Kris Humphries, reality television star Kim Kardashian's husband for 72-days, will serve as his own lawyer in their divorce proceedings.

Humphries, a 27-year-old NBA player, has filed the neccesary legal documents to act as his own lawyer, according to TMZ. However, he did not intend on initially doing so.

The New Jersey Nets forward was initially going to ask his business lawyer from Minnesota to speak in court on his behalf. However, the state of California prohibits this from taking place, since out-of-state attorneys cannot practice in the courtrooms in the state.

Still, Humphries hired a California lawyer. However, TMZ reported that the Los Angeles-based attorney withdrew from Humphries' case.

The basketball player will now be forced to represent himself against Laura Wasser, a divorce lawyer who has represented Britney Spears, Maria Shriver, Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie, Ryan Reynolds, Kiefer Sutherland and Stevie Wonder.

However, Humphries is reportedly not interested in securing money from 31-year-old Kardashian. Instead, a source told Hollywood Life that Humphries wants Kardashian to admit that she did not intend to pursue a genuine marriage with him.

"Kris would like there to be an admission that there was fraud, that there was a malicious intention by the Kardashians to use Kris and to make money and benefit themselves from him," the source said. "He wants them to publicly admit that they never intended for it to be a real marriage."

After his portrayal on Kardashian's reality show, "Kourtney & Kim Take New York," the basketball player would reportedly like people to change their negative perception about him.

"He doesn't like that people think he is a jerk and that they're so surprised when they meet him, to see that he's an OK guy," the source told Hollywood Life. "Kris isn't mean, he doesn't do things to others and it's not about the money."
