Kris Humphries To Re-Sign With New Jersey Nets

Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian's estranged husband, is expected to rejoin the New Jersey Nets after being offered a new lucrative contract.

The 26-year-old power forward became a free agent just before the NBA lockout, and has reportedly been offered a 12-month contract by his old team that is said to be worth approximately $8 million, according to TMZ.

Humphries, who joined the NBA in 2004, first signed on with the Nets in 2010 and had a relatively good run, averaging a double-double in points and rebounds.

After last season ended, the 6-foot-9-inch Minnesota native's NBA future was uncertain, and fans anxiously awaited his decision as to which team the he would sign on with.

The new contract is good news for Humphries, who has had a very stressful year after having the spotlight shone on him when he became linked to Kardashian.

In August, the pair wed in a very lavish ceremony. Their controversial marriage ended after just 72 days.

Kardashian, a 31-year-old reality TV starlet, received widespread media backlash after Humphries revealed that he was blindly served with divorce papers. Although Kardashian claimed Humpries was well aware that she would be seeking a divorce, the NBA pro insisted he was just as shocked as fans.

After it was reported that Kardashian allegedly profited in excess of $18 milllion for the wedding for selling filming rights and pictures to media outlets, fans were outraged, and began speculating that the marriage was a hoax for financial gain.

While Humphries has gained widespread sympathy, Kardashian has been slammed with the controversy, which could threaten her $500 million empire.

Humphries recently appeared on Good Morning America, where he told Josh Elliot he was focused on moving forward and putting the divorce behind him.

"I'm focused on just what I can control...which is being ready to play ball and supporting my mom and her cookie baking," Humphries said.

Humphries is likely to be back on the court with the Nets on Wednesday night.
