Lenny Kravitz Talks 'Hunger Games'

Lenny Kravitz has opened up about his role in the "Hunger Games" movie, which will be released March 23.

Kravitz is best known for his singing career but told Rolling Stone magazine, "I was offered a lot of films. I just didn't find the roles very interesting- a lot of clichéd type of stuff and really obvious things. I didn't want to make films because I can. There's no point in that."

He entered the film industry in 2009 but said he couldn't turn down the role of Cinna in "Hunger Games," which is based on the trilogy by Suzanne Collins. "The character was interesting. I like [ the director's] previous work, and I said 'Yeah, let's go.'"

Cinna is the lead stylist for the Hunger Games, an annual event in Collins' books. Though rather outlandish in the pages, Kravitz describes him as "very streamlined. He's very quiet. He knows what he's doing; he's confident. He's got a big heart."

The title book was published in 2006 and has, four years later, sold over 800,000 copies and been translated into 26 foreign languages. It was on The New York Times best-seller list for 100 weeks straight.

Fans have since been awaiting the film version of the enthralling, high-action series.

Stills from the movie have been leaked to the press, causing even more excitement and anticipation. Once fans learned of the all-star cast, fans could barely hold in their joy.

Now that the movie is nearly one month away, critics are predicting much success and turnout for the premiere. Sequels have already been discussed to carry on the trilogy's tale.

Jennifer Lawrence of "Winter's Bone" will play lead character Katniss Everdeen, while Josh Hutcherson plays Peeta and Liam Hemsworth, Gale.

Other notable celebrities in the film include Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, and Donald Sutherland.
