Liam Hemsworth Made Miley Cyrus Wait to Watch 'Hunger Games'

"The Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth has admitted that he did not let girlfriend Miley Cyrus see the film early.

Shortly before the film's March 23 release, Hemsworth explained that Cyrus had not yet seen "The Hunger Games."

"She wanted to come the other day, but I didn't allow anyone to come in the other day," said the actor speaking to MTV News.

The 22-year-old Australian native was perhaps nervous about his performance in the highly anticpated film, and preferred that Cyrus see the film later.

"She can see it now," added Hemsworth at the time. "She's excited about it too."

Cyrus posted a message about the film on her Twitter account Friday, noting "Hunger Games" lead actress Jennifer Lawrence.

"Happy Hunger Games everyone! :) can't wait for everyone to see it! Such an amazing film! JENNIFER LAWRENCE IS GENIUS!"

Hemsworth and Cyrus, 19, have been in an on-and-off again relationship for three years. They met on the set of "The Last Song" in 2009, and despite a breakup after a few months, reconciled less than a year later.

The couple is careful to keep many details of their relationship out of the public eye, but recent reports speculate over Cyrus' diamond ring worn on her left ring finger. Many rumors indicated that the Curis and Hemsworth may have become engaged.

Reports Monday dispel the engagement rumors, including one from Us Weekly that confirms Cyrus' diamond accessory is not an engagement ring.

"I am sooo obsessed with @Jennahipp nail foundations! It looks so chic and classic," wrote Cyrus on Twitter along with a photo of her nails as well as the ring.

In addition to Hemsworth, "The Hunger Games" also stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, actors Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, and Lenny Kravtiz, among many others.

The film, based off a trilogy of books by Suzanne Collins, shattered records in its opening weekend and earned $214.3 million globally.

In North America, the film garnered $155 million over the weekend, making it the third-largest opening weekend of all time.
