Lil Twist in Ferrari During Justin Bieber Accident

Rapper Lil Twist, a Lil Wayne protégé, was allegedly driving Justin Bieber's Ferrari the day that a paparazzo was killed while trying to take photos of the pop star.

Lil Twist left a Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills on Tuesday afternoon without Justin Bieber in the car, according to TMZ. It was stated early on that Bieber was not in the car when a 29-year-old paparazzo was struck while trying to take pictures of a traffic stop on a four-lane highway. The man was killed on the scene.

Despite his lack of involvement, Bieber later released a statement to the family of the photographer, sharing his condolences with the family of the deceased.

"While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim," Bieber, 18, said in a statement released by Island Def Jam Music Group Wednesday. He also suggested that the incident should shed light on the dangers of the paparazzi.

"Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves," he added.

Bieber and Lil Twist have allegedly become close friends, according to TMZ, spending New Year's Eve weekend together in Mexico. A representative for Lil Twist stated that the entertainment did not see the accident occur, although he also sent prayers to the family. Other celebrities also weighed in on the situation, including Miley Cyrus.

"Hope this paparazzi/JB accident brings on some changes in '13 Paparazzi are dangerous! Wasn't Princess Di enough of a wake up call?!" Cyrus wrote Wednesday on her Twitter account.

"This was bound to happen! Your mom teaches u when your a child not to play in the street! The chaos that comes with the paparazzi acting like fools makes it impossible for anyone to make safe choices," she added later.
