Lolo Jones Thankful to God for Second Chance at Olympics: 'God Works All Things for His Good and Glory'

Olympic star Lolo Jones has posted a new message to fans, giving credit to God for her successes and the ability to compete in the Olympics one more time. Fans have offered their encouragement to the former track star, now a bobsledder, as she prepares for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

"Everything that happens has significance. God works all things for his good and glory. God can turn a mistake to redirect you. He can use a hurdle blocking your path to put you on the right path. It is all part of His plan," Jones posted on Facebook. "It didn't make sense in 08 or 12 but who would have thought those mishaps would put me on the path to be a Winter Olympian."

Jones was a famous track star and hurdler who competed in the Summer Olympics, even helping the United States win a gold medal in the 400-meter relay in London. But at the Beijing Olympics, she tripped on a hurdle and seriously injured herself. In London, she competed again in the hurdles but came in fourth and was quite disappointed in herself.

"Had I not hit a hurdle in Beijing I would not have tried to go to London to redeem myself. Had I not got fourth in London I would not have tried to find another way to accomplish the dream," Jones wrote. "Bobsled was my fresh start. Bobsled humbled me. Bobsled made me stronger. Bobsled made me hungry. Bobsled made me rely on my faith. Bobsled gave me hope. I push a bobsled but bobsled pushed me to never give up on my dreams," Jones continued.

She decided to switch things up and will compete in the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics as part of Team USA. Jones recently appeared on "The Biggest Loser" to speak about her experience and how fortunate she was to receive a second chance.

"I am honored and excited to say I am on the 2014 Winter Olympic Team," Jones concluded. "Thank you to all the fans who have encouraged me to never give up."

Her words have struck a chord with fans and have received over 12, 200 likes on Facebook.
