Meagan Good Discusses Religious Roles, a Husband Sold Out for Christ

Meagan Good, the 30-year-old Christian actress with roles in "Think Like a Man," and "Californication," recently spoke about growing in God, avoiding religious roles and what she has learned about relationships.

Good, on the cover of the latest Vibe Vixen digital cover, tells the magazine about some of the lessons she has learned in the past decade.

"I learned that I need to really keep my eye on the prize which is God and not worry so much about what other people think of me," said Good in the publication. "And if I keep my eye on the prize, people will think what they need to think of me, good or bad."

Good has undertaken multiple roles that showcase her sexuality. However, the actress said her choices in roles are a reflection of the gifts given to her by God.

"I believe that God has gifted me as an actress and intends for me to use that gift, but He also intends for me to use it to glorify him," Good said in the Vibe interview. "So, if I'm playing the most perfect, religious girl then nobody gets anything out of it. It's like being a Christian and only hanging out in church."

The actress said it's important not to judge the characters that she plays.

"When I play a character, I try not to judge her because ultimately it's about where she ends up and what she learns from the journey, no matter what happens along the journey," she explained in the publication. "Does she become a better person?"

Aside from opening up about her growth and choices in roles, Good spoke about her philosophies concerning dating as a Christian woman.

"By the grace of God, I haven't had a whole lot of bad luck, but it's because I've been so guarded," she said. "I really just try to keep God first, so that's kept me out of a lot of pit holes. There's nothing that I've really done that I regret."

Good, who broke up with longtime NFL player Thomas Jones in 2010, also opened up to Sister 2 Sister magazine about her love life last year. The actress appeared on the cover girl of the November issue of the magazine, in which she spoke about trusting God to provide her with a husband.

"The next guy I meet is [going to be my] husband and I already talked to God about that," Good said."I was like, 'Check this out Lord, I know what you want for me,' and He really wants a man that has completely sold out for Christ for me, who can help me improve and be better than I am."
