'Michael W. Smith & Friends Cruise' 2014 Announced: 'We Have Big Expectations, But God Always Exceeds'

Grammy Award-winning Christian artist, Michael W. Smith, has announced that his "Michael W. Smith & Friends Cruise" will be heading to Alaska in 2014.

The event has been a fan favorite for many years, and this year the festival of music will include: worship leader Darlene Zschech, Dove Award-winning trio Phillips, Craig & Dean, and comedian John Branyan.

For the first time ever, Smith will be giving fans a chance to get involved on the cruise by creating the Michael W. Smith Cruise Choir, which will allow 250 guests to be on stage and sing with Smith.

Setting sail July 6, 2014 from Seattle, Washington, the cruise will stop off at Juneau, Alaska; Sitka, Alaska; Ketchikan, Alaska; and Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Activities on the ship will be based around daily devotionals, Bible studies, and music.

"These cruises have been among the highlights of my career," says Smith in a press release. "The friendships that we have formed and strengthened by these trips are a treasure to my family and my whole team. From the special onboard concerts to powerful devotions and some pretty hilarious moments: the week affords us all a chance to unwind while connecting with friends and family in a deeper way. We go into these cruises with great expectations - and God always exceeds our biggest hopes. If there is one part of cruising that I enjoy more than any other it's listening to the personal stories of spiritual walks being strengthened, friendships being formed and relationships being restored."

Tickets for the cruise are now available at www.michaelwsmith.com

Smith has been a recording artist for 29 years, in which time he has released 24 albums, received three Grammy Awards, 44 Dove Awards, and 33 No. 1 radio hits, 16 Gold, seven Platinum, and two Double-Platinum albums, giving him 15 million records sold.

Smith was inducted into the Gospel Hall of Fame in 2009.
