Missing Baby Lisa Irwin: Chaos Surrounds Family as Lawyer is Fired
Lawyers representing the parents of missing baby Lisa Irwin have split throwing further controversy on the case. Kansas City attorney Cyndy Short has today reported that she was fired by New York defense attorney Joe Tacopina.
At a news conference earlier today, Short said "Tacopina and I were not able to work as a team. Our goals and our approaches are so different that one of us had to go.”
Short was fired soon after she gave media tours of the Irwin family home, which the family says they were not aware of. Lisa’s parents Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin emailed a statement to ABCNews.com saying, “After hearing there was a press conference, and listening to Mrs. Short's statement, we are further convinced that we made the correct decision.”

They continued: “One of the reasons we relieved Mrs. Short was because she was holding her own press conferences, making statements to the media, and giving tours of the home that we were finding out about after the fact.”
The family said Tacopina has secured “very prestigious local lawyers to join the team representing the family.”
Baby Lisa disappeared from her crib after her mother put her to bed at 10.30 p.m. on Oct 3. But later when the baby’s father Jeremy returned from work and checked on the baby, she was gone.
Lisa’s parents claim someone crawled through the window and snatched the baby.
