Missy Elliott cannot stop thanking God after her recent Super Bowl Halftime Show appearance resulted in an overwhelming amount of support.

Elliot, the 43-year-old rapper and producer, has not released an album with new music in 10 years. Singer Katy Perry headlined the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show and decided to welcome Missy Elliott as her guest, where the rapper performed some of her old music.

Since the performance, some of Elliot's songs that were released over a decade ago have made their way into the top 15 on iTunes charts. On Monday, the song "Work It" held the number four spot, "Get Ur Freak On" came in at number six and "Lose Control" at number 12.

According to Spotify, Missy Elliott experienced a 676 percent increase in streams from before the Super Bowl halftime Show. After a great deal of support from both old and new fans alike, Elliot took to Twitter to thank God and her fans in an emotional message.

"I cried because I've been thru so much but I'm still here & thru the grace of God & u the fans believing in me I love y'all," she tweeted Monday. "Tbh I didn't realize how much I was missed til last night.I'm crying y'all 4give me I just can't stop thanking God & y'all. Thankful to God I Love all y'all I truly do I'm so humbled (SIC)."

Elliot rose to popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s and became the only female rapper to have six albums certified platinum by the RIAA. While she has spoken about a battle with the autoimmune disorder Graves disease which has affected her ability to release new material, the rapper previously spoke about taking her time to create new music.

"When I create something, it's got to be special. And it can't just be throw something out there because I feel like I'm Missy," she told Yahoo! last year. "I've got to feel like what I'm giving the fans is 100 percent and that it's game-changing. I don't just throw out microwave records."
