Motorola Droid RAZR: World's Thinnest Smartphone Also the Toughest?

The new Motorola Droid RAZR is being billed as the "world’s thinnest 4G smartphone" and can be described with four words: faster, thinner, smarter, and stronger.

Gadget website TechCrunch says that the much-anticipated RAZR lives up to expectations with a large screen, crisp display, and even a Kevlar fiber casing which is designed to “withstand the back pocket test."

In addition to the Kevlar case, the RAZR also has Splash Guard technology and a stainless steel core, adding further protection.

Another feature that TechCrunch raves about is the phone’s ability to sync the MotoACTV watch with the Droid RAZR, which means one can simultaneously check text messages and see phone calls while “you’re out jogging or hitting the gym," the site says.

CNET also raved about the phone’s design, pointing out its tough, Corning Gorilla glass. However, especially worth noting is that the new Droid RAZR has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display with qHD resolution, making it the first smartphone capable of streaming Netflix in HD.

The other features that the Droid RAZR has is 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video capture and image stabilization, and a front-facing HD camera for video chat, CNET reports.

According to Marni Walden, vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon Wireless, the Droid RAZR hopes to combine technology with service.

"Droid RAZR by Motorola combines style, performance and the power of Verizon Wireless’s 4G LTE network into one innovative device," Walden said in a statement. "These are two iconic brands that separately symbolize the best technology available today. The combination will provide an unsurpassed wireless experience for customers."
