Nicki Minaj Idol Outfit Slammed as 'Inappropriate' as Singer Uses English Accent to Diss Mariah Carey (VIDEO)

Nicki Minaj's Idol outfit has been criticized by some for being wholly inappropriate for the reality TV singing show, which is a family favorite across America.

The dress Minaj was seen wearing on the April 17 episode of American Idol has been slammed by some, who feel it was inappropriate for the younger audience the show attracts.

The singer is well known for sometimes donning controversial outfits and being seen in "interesting" dresses, however, this time she may have gone to far in some fans' eyes.

However, it was not just Minaj's dress that hit social media, but also the way the rapper spoke to fellow Idol judge, Mariah Carey.

Following Kree's widely praised performance, Carey and Minaj could be seen at one another again - something that has been a consistent back and forth through the current series.

"I disagree... that was the best performance of the night," Minaj told Carey after she had criticized the performance somewhat.

"I wasn't saying she was awkward... you don't really disagree with me," responded Mariah.

Minaj responded, "No, I do and I'll explain."

Carey then tried to interject again but Minaj then out of the blue put on a bad English accent and shouted out to Carey, "Simmer down sir!"

The news of the continuing feud comes as ratings for the latest series of American Idol were announced as way down.

Some reports have claimed that the show's production staff seem to think the judges could have something to do with the big dip in ratings.

The cast of judges on the show features Minaj, Carey, as well as singer Keith Urban and series veteran, Randy Jackson.

Despite the well-known names on the judges panel, Forbes and The New York Daily News have reported that "American Idol" has suffered its biggest ratings drop in over a decade.

Nigel Lythgoe, the "American Idol" executive producer, said that a feud between Carey and Minaj in the beginning of the season may have hurt the show's chances during season 12.

"That got off to a bad start and that didn't help anything," Lythgoe told the website Zap2it recently.
