Many fans of the royal family have placed bets on the sex of the royal baby, with bookies offering odds favoring that the Duchess of Cambridge will have a girl, according to the Daily Mail.

Nevertheless, a source close to Prince Harry said the uncle-to-be is excited for a baby boy.

"Harry has been telling everyone Wills and Kate are having a boy and how thrilled he is at the prospect of having a little nephew," said the insider, according to the U.K.'s Mirror.

"Apparently Kate has always wanted a boy," the source added. "The close inner circle all know that it's a boy and they're busily buying gifts with a boy theme. There will be an awful lot of blue in their house."

One thing does remain top-secret though; the baby's name.

"Of course, Harry's been making up crazy suggestions and winding them up, too," the insider said.

Meanwhile the Duchess of Cambridge has dropped hints at the baby's gender while shopping for the child recently. The 31-year-old was spotted purchasing a blue stroller last month, indicating the strong possibility that she is having a baby boy.

Although Middleton reportedly wants a baby boy, her husband has admitted he wants a daughter.

"I'd like to have a boy and William would like a girl," Middleton revealed to a fan, according to the Daily Mail.
