Prince William Explains Baby George's African-Themed Nursery

Kate Middleton and Prince William created an African-themed nursery for their newborn son, Prince George Alexander Louis, it has been revealed.

The royal couple, who welcomed the birth of baby George in July, opted for an African safari style nursery in a theme that is admittedly close to William's heart. The Duke of Cambridge, along with his younger brother Prince Harry, were reportedly introduced to Africa by their parents at a young age and William, 31, is eager for his baby boy to also experience the continent as a child.

"I'll have toy elephants and rhinos around the room," William told CNN's Max Foster in a TV interview. "We'll cover it in, you know, lots of bushes and things like that. [We'll] make him grow up as if he's in the bush."

Prince George is the first child for the royal couple and Prince William revealed that fatherhood has been challenging.

"[George is] growing quite quickly actually. But he's a little fighter. He kind of, he wriggles around quite a lot. And he doesn't want to go to sleep that much, which is a little bit of a problem," the prince quipped.

"He's a little bit of a rascal, put it that way. So he either reminds me of my brother or me when I was younger," he continued. "I'm not sure. But he's doing very well at the moment."

William recently returned to work as a Royal Air Force search-and-rescue pilot in Wales, and Middleton along with her mother Carole and baby George are believed to have joined him. The royal couple spent several days staying with Middleton's parents at their Berkshire estate shortly after baby George was born.

"I have to say that I thought Search and Rescue duties over Snowdonia were physically and mentally demanding, but looking after a three week-old baby is up there!" William recently joked at the Anglesey Show.
