Prince William Reveals Baby George 'Has Voice to Match Any Lion's Roar'

Prince William and Kate Middleton recently made their first red carpet appearance together since the birth of their son, George Alexander Louis, and the Duke opened up about the newborn.

The royal couple, who appeared to be happy and relaxed, stepped out for the inaugural Tusk Conservation Awards at the Royal Society in London on Thursday and William, 31, admitted that baby George was on both their minds. Middleton, 31, gave birth to their son on July 22.

"As you might have gathered, Catherine and I have recently become proud parents of a baby who has a voice to match any lion's roar!" William told the crowd according to Us magazine.

"This is actually our first evening out without him, so please excuse us if you see us nervously casting cheeky glances at our mobile phone to check all is well back home," he explained.

Earlier that day reports confirmed that the Duke of Cambridge left the Armed Forces to begin his training as a future king. The new father will reportedly embark on a transitional year-long program of public service to prepare for life as a full-time royal.

In August William joked about the intensity of first-time parenting by likening it to his duties as a RAF search and rescue pilot. The Duke and Duchess are said to be adjusting well to parenthood.

"I have to say that I thought Search and Rescue duties over Snowdonia were physically and mentally demanding, but looking after a three week-old baby is up there!" he joked.

The royal couple temporarily moved in with Middleton's parents, Carole and Michael, at their Bucklebury estate just one day after Prince George's birth however they recently moved to Kensington palace. William noted that while the family has had a "few sleepless nights," the "new addition [is] sleeping much better now."

It was previously claimed that William had found an effective method to put his newborn son to sleep.

"Prince William is using a bizarre tactic of belting out Coldplay anthems at all hours of the night even though he can barely hold a note," a source told the Daily Star adding that while it is effective for the baby "[The music is] keeping Kate's parents awake."

The Duke reportedly adopted his singing method while the Duchess was still pregnant with baby George. The source claims he would often sing lullabies like "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and "Go To Sleep My Baby" to Middleton's baby bump.
