Rapzilla Calling for Fans' Vote for Best 2011 Christian Hip Hop Artist

It has been a huge year for Christian Hip Hop, with Christian rapper Lecrae breaking into the mainstream with his performance in the BET Hip Hop Awards cipher, alongside some popular secular artists that include Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Ludacris and Chris Brown.

And with 2011 winding down, Rapzilla.com, a hip hop website dedicated to the Christian-themed version of the art form, is allowing fans to vote on their favorite Christian hip hop artist of the year.

Lecrae, an Atlanta native, has made the list – along with other popular Christian rap acts, including The Ambassador, Bizzle, Braille, Da’ T.R.U.T.H., Flame, Pro, Propaganda, Thi’sl and Lecrae's Reach Records label colleague, Tedashii.

Lecrae currently leads the group, having the most “likes” on Facebook with 1,000 hits. His claim to fame for 2011 was the release of his newest album Rehab: The Overdose, the sequel to last year’s Rehab. The new album had a warm reception from fans.

“This album is awesome. It is perfect to go along with the Rehab album,” said one Amazon.com reviewer, Will. “Not too many features and it just shows that Lecrae can do it on his own as a solo artist.”

Meanwhile, “best artist” is not the only category Rapzilla is allowing fans to vote on. The site is also taking its bid for best album, best free album, best single, and best music video along with other categories.

Lecrae is also up for best music video with his song “Just Like You.” He joins the rest of the 116 Clique members including Sho Baraka, Tedashii, Trip Lee, Andy Mineo, KB and Pro in the best group/ crew category.

However, his 2011 Rehab: The Overdose album did not make the list in the year’s best album category.
