"After talking it through at length with a psychotherapist," the insider added, "Rihanna's now doing a 12-step program to get rid of her demons."

The two became infamously linked in 2009 when it became known that Brown physically assaulted Rihanna.

The news of Rihanna's possible therapy comes just days after she was captured on video hitting a fan with a microphone during a recent concert.

During a recent tour stop in Birmingham, U.K., the pop star was grabbed by numerous fans while walking through the crowd. Although the popular singer was accompanied by security, one fan would not let her go and she responded by striking the individual with her microphone, as seen during a video circulating on YouTube.

An Instagram message has been making its rounds on the internet, with Rihanna allegedly explaining why she hit the unseen fan grabbing at her in the YouTube video posted by Diana Lahor. When one fan took to the social networking picture sharing website to question if she hit the person by accident, the singer reportedly responded.

"Purpose," Rihanna reportedly replied on Instagram. "That (expletive) wouldn't let me go."
