Samsung Galaxy Beam Release Date Set for This Month

Samsung will be launching its Galaxy Beam smartphone in Europe sometime this month, according to U.K. retailer Carphone Warehouse.

The company has added the Samsung Galaxy Beam to its list of upcoming devices and has stated that it should be coming out before the end of June.

The handset will feature the ST-Ericsson Nova Thor U8500 chip.

Other specifications for the Galaxy Beam include a 15-lumen built in pico projector, a 1GHz processor and front and rear 5-megapixel camera.

The Galaxy Beam is a special device due to its abilities to become a portable projector.

The lumens spreads out into a 50-inch picture with a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels.

Samsung seems to want to bring the smartphone experience onto a larger screen with many of its new devices.

The company also recently launched the Samsung Galaxy S3, and with it comes a slew of new accessories.

One of these accessories includes a Wi-Fi Display Hub that allows Galaxy S3 owners to view content on their smartphone screen on their television.

It is note quite a projector, but the component gives the Galaxy S3 a similar ability to the Galaxy Beam, making it have a bigger picture.

Content such as gaming, texting, YouTube, NetFlix, and Hulu can all be accessed easily through the smartphone and could possibly be converted onto a larger screen with both of these devices.

This shows that power is shifting into the hands of companies such as Samsung and Apple, as they now can control the mass consumption of all these types of media.

However, the quality of the Galaxy Beam's picture is yet to be measured. Projectors normally have a tendency to deliver a duller picture. The Wi-Fi Hub might be a better choice for Samsung fans in Europe if they want to see their smartphone content on a larger scale.
