Samsung Galaxy S3 Release in New Special Edition Colors Expected

The Samsung Galaxy S3 release has sparked huge demand for the Korean company's landmark smartphone over recent weeks. The phone has been released worldwide in Pebble Blue and Marble White, however, according to new reports Samsung could be set to release the phone in a number of special edition colors.

In the United States it was recently announced that AT&T would start to sell the Samsung Galaxy S3 in Garnet Red, but the extra colors will not stop there it seems. A Samsung U.K. spokesperson has told Pocket Lint: "We will be announcing potential color variants in due course."

It is unclear whether the extra colors will only be released in the United Kingdom or whether it will be available more widely, however, if numerous colors become available it is likely some of them will make their way to the U.S. sooner or later.

AT&T began accepting pre-orders for the Garnet Red Samsung Galaxy S3 on Sunday July 15, with availability expected from July 29. The phone will have the same specs and will cost the same as the white and blue versions of the smartphone which have already been released; $199 with a two year contract for the 16GB model, and $249 for the 32GB version.

Jeff Bradley, senior vice president for AT&T mobility has said, "With an exclusive red color this summer and the power of the nation's largest 4G network, AT&T delivers the best wireless experience for Galaxy S3 fans."

Pocket Lint has speculated that Samsung will launch various rock or gemstone styled versions, such as Emerald Green or Azurite Orange, to match their current naming conventions; Pebble Blue, Garnet Red and Marble White.

Samsung has released its Galaxy S3 over a long period of time across the world, with Europe and parts of the Middle East receiving the phone weeks ago. The United States has received the smartphone more recently, and it is believed that Samsung will continue to attempt to generate further interest over coming weeks and months. Apple's iPhone 5 is expected to be released sometime in the coming three months, so Samsung will be looking to take advantage of the coming few months as much as possible before that release date arrives.

New colors is part of this drive by Samsung, and it has also been reported that a Samsung Approved For Enterprise (SAFE) edition will be available, which is designed for "bring your own device" policies in the workplace.
