Not much else is known about the Samsung Nexus Prime, except that it’s supposed to have a 4.65-inch and 1280x720 pixel resolution, and that it’s expected to be powered by Android's latest OS, Ice Cream Sandwich.

Both the hardware and software were expected to be unveiled at Samsung and Google's "Samsung Mobile Unpacked: Google Episode" media event on October 11, until reports stated, first that the Nexus Prime would not be launched at the event, and then that the event was cancelled in respect of the death of Apple founder and former CEO Steve Jobs.

“We believe this is not the right time to announce a new product as the world expresses tribute to Steve Jobs’s passing,” the companies said in a joint statement.

Apple however, has not postponed the Oct. 14 release of its latest smartphone, the iPhone 4S.

The iPhone 4S was unveiled on Oct. 4 at Apple's "Let's Talk iPhone" media event.

After the unveiling, Samsung and Google promptly released the teaser trailer for the Google Nexus Prime.
