Ailes, who hired the outspoken former vice presidential candidate to make appearances and give news worthy interviews to the news channel, believed that the former Alaskan governor’s popularity would contribute to high ratings for the network.

Palin went against the purpose of her engagement with the network when she announced to the world that she would not be making a presidential bid on conservative radio talk show host Mark Levin’s radio program.

The self identified hockey mom made an appearance on the network’s “On the Record” program with Greta Van Susteren, but the less than pleased Ailes would not be appeased.

Ailes reportedly told Fox News executive vice-president Bill Shine, “I paid her for two years to make this announcement on my network."

Palin has reportedly been unhappy with former President George W. Bush advisor Karl Rove’s appearances on the network. In the past Rove has characterized Palin as having “enormous thin skin.”

The former vice presidential candidate has also criticized other personalities on the network, including Megan Kelly for noting Palin’s low poll numbers, and she took exception to Juan Williams who criticized her for referring to GOP presidential hopeful as “Herb” as well characterizing the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza as the flavor of the month.
