Scarlett Johansson Fights for Hugh Jackman's $30,000 Shirt

Scarlett Johansson lost the opportunity to claim Hugh Jackman’s shirt as a prize when she was outbid at a Broadway charity auction.

Actor Hugh Jackman put one of his shirts up for bid Tuesday following his one man Broadway Show, “Hugh Jackman Returns to Broadway”. The bidding started after Hugh acknowledged friends Uma Therman and Scarlett Johansson in the audience.

After both actresses had placed bids, Scarlett Johansson ran on stage with a $3,000 bid, however she was quickly outbid. The final price the shirt went for was ten times as much at $30,000.

Jackman’s 10-week show involves an 18-piece orchestra and several female background dancers. The show was introduced to raise funds for the charity Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, an organization that funds the social service work of The Actors Fund and award grants to AIDS service organizations nationwide. In three weeks the show has earned $857,740 in donations.
