Scarlett Johansson Leaked Photos Scandal: FBI Closes in on Hackers

In the latest development to the Scarlett Johansson leaked nude photos scandal, the FBI is reportedly “honing in” on a group of hackers who allegedly stole the pictures from her phone, according to TMZ.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the FBI has identified the ringleader of the hacking group.

Johansson, apparently, isn’t the only celebrity who is a victim of hackers. Hackers have entered the phones of over 50 celebrities, including Vanessa Hudgens, Jessica Alba, Lindsey Vonn, Ali Larter and Emma Caulfield, TMZ reported Thursday.

Scarlett Johansson enlisted the help of the FBI Wednesday after the photos surfaced online. In one of the reported leaked photos, Johansson is seen topless as she apparently snaps photos of herself while lying on a luxurious white blanket. In another, she is taking rear-view photos of herself as she poses in a full length mirror.

So far, no one in particular has claimed responsibility for the supposed leaked photos and, according to sources close to Johansson, the FBI has been contacted to investigate what is being considered to be a "criminal act."

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller did not confirm the FBI investigation into Johansson’s leaked photos but did tell The Los Angeles Times that the agency was looking into a "a series of computer intrusions" by hackers.

“I can confirm that the FBI is investigating a series of computer intrusions targeting high-profile figures,"Eimiller said but did not name any of the reported victims.

In the past, there have been a number of reports of celebrities being the victims of a group of hackers known as Hollywood Leaks. These celebs include Miley Cyrus and Tom Cruise.

Johansson made her film debut in the 1994 film North and was immediately noted as an actress with great promise. She was later nominated for the Independent Spirit Awards for Best Female Lead for her performance in the 1996 film Manny & Lo. She later turned in great performances in Girl with a Pearl Earring as well as Lost in Translation. Both films earned her a Golden Globe Award.

Johansson, the daughter of Danish-born architect Karsten Johansson, was born in New York City. She was married to Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds in September of 2008, but the union was short lived as the couple divorced in December of 2010.
