Last year, rumors swirled about Pastor Smith being the reason for Bieber and Gomez to reconcile after they broke up.

"Pastor Judah pleaded with Selena to fly to Norway," a source reportedly told Star magazine. "She's the only person who can stop Justin from having a breakdown."

While the news was never confirmed by Bieber, his Pastor or Gomez, the minister made it clear that he has invested in the Canadian crooner's salvation.

"Justin and I share Scriptures on a regular basis and communicate," Smith told E! last year. "And I think you find a lot of comfort and clarity in the Scriptures."

Smith, the leader of The City Church in Seattle, Wash., has made it clear that he seeks to
uplift Bieber. Regardless of media speculation, Smith has never called Bieber anything less than a good young man.

"I do my best to encourage him, and he's a spectacular young man," Smith said during an appearance on Fox last year.

Gomez has not been afraid to stay in touch with Smith to seek his advice about her ex-boyfriend, according to previous Heat magazine reports.

"Selena's been in touch with Justin's best friend Pastor Judah Smith and asking advice on how she should approach things," British magazine Heat previously reported. "He's convinced that Selena can help Justin, so he's doing everything he can to get them back together."
